How does HIFU work?
HIFU uses High Intensity Focused Ultrasound Technology , which heats the deep and superficial layers of the skin’s tissue under the surface of the skin, gradually tightening and toning the treatment area.

are there any side effects?
You may experience some redness, swelling and heat in the treated area after a procedure, but these symptoms should resolve themselves within 24-48 hours..
is it safe?
Absolutely. The treatments are non-invasive – meaning the treatment does not penetrate the skin so there is no risk of infection or complication. Nor do we use toxins. The treatment itself acts as a catalyst to stimulate the body’s natural processes. This technology is medical grade.
how long is each treatment session?
Each session can last from 30 – 60 mins depending on the area.
What will I experience during the treatment?
The ultrasonic gel is first rubbed into the target area to help the HIFU device send ultrasound waves to the target fat layers using a special handpiece. As ultrasound waves penetrate the target layers, the fat cells respond. The procedure can be performed for any part of the body, such as the arms, abdomen, or sides.
This process is usually repeated three times for each targeted area. It is perfectly normal to feel the heat, slight tremors, and burning sensation during the treatment. Due to the heat generated, most patients experience the penetration of ultrasonic waves with a burning or tingling sensation on their skin. It is important to know that HIFU body sculpting will not damage the surface layer of the skin.
Who cannot have HIFU body sculpting?
Pregnant and lactating women cannot have this treatment. You must be over 18 years old, not have conditions such as hernias, infections, and skin diseases and there should be no wounds or scars in the treatment area.
how many treatments will i need?
It may vary from person to person. However depending on one’s body goals, it may be between 3 -5 treatments at an interval of 4-6 weeks.
Which is Better: RF or HIFU?
HIFU and RF (Radio Frequency) are two completely different treatments.
RF (Radio Frequency) generates heat to tighten and firm the skin by heating the dermis which causes the body to release proteins that stimulate the production of new collagen fibres and improve blood flow; resulting in skin rejuvenation. Radio Frequency is only able to treat the superficial layers of the epidermis and is more for 'crepey skin' as it penetrates no further than 3mm deep into the skin tissues.
HIFU Energy is much stronger than RF Energy. HIFU helps with a loss of elasticity and also works to stimulate collagen and elastin production. HIFU treatments target different layers of the skin and also the SMAS (superficial muscle layer) of the skin, and also targets fat cells by heating the skins tissue. With HIFU we are able to perform a more powerful treatment that penetrates deeper into the skin than what can be achieved with RF energy. HIFU can be customised to the clients needs with the ability to change the different depths of cartridges, something we are unable to do with an RF Skin Tightening procedure.
HIFU treatments can only be performed at 4 week intervals on the same treatment area where as RF treatments can be performed at weekly intervals, however many clients will incorporate RF Skin Tightening into their HIFU Body treatment plan to maximise results.

How does radio frequency (rf) skin tightening work?
The RF energy penetrates the skin layers to selectively heat the skin tissue and the extra cellular matrix where the collagen fibres are embedded. The local heating causes an immediate contraction of collagen fibres, and at the same time increases the metabolism of the fibroblasts thereby accelerating the production of new collagen and elastin fibres. The concentration of collagen fibres and the regeneration of the collagen and elastin deposits, tighten the skin layers creating smoother, firmer and younger looking skin.

What will I experience during the treatment?
Our skin tightening treatments are relaxing treatments. You will feel the sensation of heat in the treated area with very little or no discomfort. It feels like a hot stone massage. The Tri Lipo treatment is little active on the skin as it causes muscle activation, but is not uncomfortable.
The treatment sensation has two aspects. Since the TriLipo technology combines RF with Dynamic Muscle Activation (DMA), the sensation is a result of both technologies. The RF effect will be a heating effect of the skin. You should feel a very pleasant heating of the area, similar to a warm massage. The DMA has various power levels and the sensation is different per DMA strength. The practitioner will adjust the DMA parameters to enable a very tolerable treatment. DMA at low energy levels feels like bubbles bursting on the skin surface. As the DMA parameters are increased, the sensation changes to a sensation similar to rubber bands snapping in the treated area and higher DMA parameters will induce a sensation of real muscle contraction.
When will i see the results?
Results are different per body area and per person. In general, facial treatments will usually produce a nice immediate tightening and improvement of skin texture. Loose skin on the abdomen can feel tighter immediately after the first session. However, in most cases it takes several treatments to notice long lasting results. To maintain the results, we recommend few follow up sessions after 2 to 3 months.
how many treatments will i need?
Your therapist will work with you to create a customised treatment plan to help you achieve your body goals. They can offer you additional guidance to help maximise your treatment and ensure your results are maintained. On the day of treatment measurements and photos will be taken to monitor your results. Follow up appointments are booked in to monitor progress of results through photos and measurements.
Typically, the standard protocol for these treatments is 6 sessions. However, if needed, more treatments can be added according to severity of the condition. Maintenance treatments are recommended every 1-3 months to maintain and improve the treatment results.
can i have this treatment if i had a surgery in the past?
You can have this treatment 3 to 6 months post any surgery. However it is advisable to get a medical clearance certificate from your doctor to go ahead with this treatment. This includes liposuction surgery, C-section, Fat dissolving injections and fat freezing treatments.
